Just watched GET THE GRINGO! A south of the border shoot em up focusing on a recently captured thief, played by Mel Gibson, the money he stole and the powerful people who want it back. It really is a shame that Mel Gibson's personal problems keep getting in his way because this was really a great movie! This is probably my favorite Mexican crime movie on par with Robert Rodriguez's action classic Desperado. I might like it a little bit more in some way to tell the truth. It becomes especially fun when you liken it to a sequel to Mel Gibson's other great movie Payback. Good acting, beautifully gritty cinematography, and a witty, well written script combine along with Gibson's charisma help to set this movie apart from the typical action adventure flick. This is one of those under-the-radar gems not to be missed much like Equilibrium or Boondock Saints. Trust me, you'll love it. Get The Gringo gets a 4.5... Out of 5.
