I saw IN A WORLD... last week! Now, it may be more than a little tough to find this movie but trust me that it's worth the search! This movie, written directed and starring Lake Bell, one of the stars of Comedy Central's hit show Children's Hospital, is without question the funniest and most original film I have had the pleasure of seeing all year. In A World centers around the daughter of a famous film trailer voice-over actor and her journey to not only live up to her father's legacy but to also carve out her own destiny and career in a the "man's world" of professional voice-over acting. The film is lighthearted, genuine, extremely funny and exceptionally well written. Those of you who are saying to yourselves, "whatever happened to just good old fashioned writing and witty dialogue in film" will really enjoy this movie. From beginning to end, the movie is engaging, rich in character and well balanced to boot! This film is also stocked with some majorly talented actors and comedians including Rob Corddry, Demetri Martin, Tig Notaro, Nick Offerman, Ken Marino and Fred Melamed all of which really shine with fully realized characters and spirited portrayals. Usually you don't get to see these types of actors in anything but a character actor type role or as simple comic relief but here they all end up with a little more meat on their roles which not only refreshing, it's just out and out impressive. Overall In A World is a movie that is better than good and really should be seen. If not in a theater for sure as a rental. In A World gets a 4.5...out of 5.
