I saw MONSTERS UNIVERSITY the other day. Pretty solid film. Great for kids, however I do feel like style is taking a front seat to substance with Pixar films these days. That's not to say that the story is weak at all because it isn't but for Pixar I thought it would be just a smidge better as it comes off as an amalgamation of Revenge of the Nerds and Animal House which really isn't bad but again, from Pixar, I expected more. It's overall, a pretty solid film with decent comedy that I found myself laughing at least a dozen or so times. What more can I say? Its a simple movie that never colors outside the lines which is enough to earn it a passing grade. Monsters University gets a 3.5... out of 5.
