I saw THE HEAT the other day! Looking at the trailer, you think, "ehh I don't know, a standard buddy cop movie but they're women...maybe" but let me tell you, it was really great! Melissa McCarthy and Sandra Bullock really knocked this one out of the park! This was honestly like the 21 Jump Street of 2013(in a lot more ways than one). At its core its just a stock plot with a lot of predictable twists and turns but what saves it is McCarthy and Bullock's and more specifically, McCarthy's improv comedy style which kept me laughing pretty much the whole time. If you liked 21 Jump Street or Bridesmaids or just buddy cop films in general, you'll like this. This summer has been somewhat lackluster compared to last year but I'm confident in saying that The Heat is one of this year's brighter gems. Check it out if you can, The Heat gets a 4...out of 5.
