I saw PACIFIC RIM last night! Now, talk about an epic summer movie! Director Guillermo DelToro knocks another one out of the park and brings the rain with this truly bad-ass flick! If you like Godzilla films or any Japanese mecha shows like Gundam Wing or The Big O you will LOVE this movie because that's pretty much what this is, a Japanese mecha anime come to life! The film was simply astounding all the way around! The special effects were mind blowing, the story was tight and exciting and all the acting was pitch perfect. It was a big, loud, colorful, exciting action adventure spectacle that kept me fully engaged with copious amounts of popcorn in my face for the whole 2+ hr runtime! Overall I'd have to say that Pacific Rim was quite easily the biggest and funnest time I've had the theater all year long and if you decide to see it, for God's sake see it on the biggest screen you can find. Pacific Rim gets a 5... out of 5.
