50 Classic Horror Films You SHOULDN'T Watch: DON'T WATCH Friday the 13th

We're clear of summer but that doesn't mean that the fun is over. October is a great time of year to check out the leaves changing colors and the beauty of nature around a campfire. Only thing is, you might want to keep your head on a swivel and be ready to run if all of a sudden you hear the tell tale sound "ch ch chh ah ah ahh" because you just may be about to get proper murked by a dude in a hockey mask.

Nobody really knows why psycho killers prefer the woods to murder people in, statistically speaking it's the least likely place to find a person to kill. None the less, psychos like Jason Voorhees and Leatherface have racked up a pretty sizable body-count and have been instrumental in making the chainsaw and machete THE number one weapons used in horror films besides the massive kitchen knife, which is used by both killers and their prey in self-defense. For years, we've watched Friday the 13th and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and it's seemingly endless amounts of sequels and reboots murder literally hundreds of people out in the woods and despite the fact that none of the films in either franchise have been scary in the last 20 years people keep going back to them looking for scares and just like poor mother hubbard we've been scratching at a bare cupboard hoping to find something to get our blood pumping and instead we end up laughing and wishing death on the poor teens who are just looking to get a little action and smoke a bit of weed like all kids are want to do. Well I say "no more!" Lets put the fear back into the woods this year and to do it I've got just the right flicks to take you there.

HIGH TENSION. Tension is definitely the name of the game with this French film. High Tension or Haute Tension as it's known in France, is all about two college friends who must fight against a maniac who breaks into their family home on the edge of the woods. This is probably the most frightened I've ever been in a theater mostly because it's a scenario that could possibly happen. The directing and the tone of this film are what makes it a winner as it wraps you so tight with it's tense atmosphere that you feel like you can't even breathe at points. Seriously check it out if you can but words of wisdom: If you want to see the best ending, turn it off after the "greenhouse scene" otherwise the added plot twist that comes afterwards will leave you saing, "Whaaaaat? Well that's just not physically possible!!" and the entire movie eats itself. So! Let that be known and enjoy the show!

EDEN LAKE.Now here's a twist of things, for too long we've seen killers after teenagers in the woods and we've never stopped to think what would happen if the teenagers were the villains. Eden Lake does just that. The film centers around a young teacher and her boyfriend going up to a lake for a romantic weekend when they are terrorized by a band of local rambunctious teens. This is a rough ride and it pulls no punches in the violence department so if you've got the stomach for some real backwoods brutality turn this film on and be prepared to squirm!

SLEEPAWAY CAMP. This is an example of B-Movie cinema that is pretty bad for 95% of the movie but totally jaw-droppingly awesome for the last 5% of it. It's a pretty straight forward slasher flick set at a summer camp and it's pretty not good throughout most of the film but the last 5 minutes, they must have had someone else come in and write/direct it because it's so far off the page that it'll have you screaming, "WHAAAAAT?!" at your screen.

TUCKER AND DALE VS EVIL. This movie looks at Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers and dares to pose the question "what if this is just one huge misunderstanding?" Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine play Tucker and Dale and together they are comedy gold! This movie had me laughing out loud one second and cringing with shock the next and then laughing again. It's got big laughs and believe it or not a lot of heart and a message about self confidence that everyone can learn from. See it!
