50 Classic Horror Films You SHOULDN'T Watch: DON'T WATCH The Craft

Those fingers in their hair, that sly come hither stare, yes I'm talkin' bout witchcraft. Whether we're talking about witches with poison apples or ruby slippers or vaccum cleaners or my personal favorite, sexy witches that try to make you feel "light as a feather and stiff as a board" (and believe me they did *rim-shot*) witches can be some pretty frightening old broads. I won't run down the inexhaustible list of famous witches because you already know them. Maleficent, the wicked witch of the west, the list goes on and on. So instead of rambling on about something that everyone knows, let me just dispense with the pleasantries and tell you about the new gals in town.

DRAG ME TO HELL. Sam Raimi directed this movie and if you aren't already opening another window and typing "where can I watch DRAG ME TO HELL online" then you need to get your eyes checked. This film is done in a style not too dissimilar to Evil Dead 2 in that it mixes real horror with comedy slapstick and I have to say, the man does a bang up job! The story is about a sweet young lady who works at the bank and the terrible Hell-curse an old gypsy witch casts upon her. Honestly if you're a Evil Dead 2 fan out there, watch it! it'll make your evening.

THE SKELETON KEY. This is a fairly recent film about a young caretaker for the elderly, played by Kate Hudson, who finds herself in hot water with voodoo forces she never thought existed. It's got real tension and a mysterious plot that will keep you guessing the whole way through! It's got old school storytelling with an almost Rod Serling-like sensibilities. If you're looking for something to raise the hair on the back of your neck, the time is now Lord! Watch it!

THE WITCHES. This movie burned a hole in my brain as a boy and to this day I still have problems eating chocolate and trusting old ladies. Why you ask? Well, The Witches is about a young lad named Luke who accidentally stumbles onto a group of witches gathering together at a witchcraft convention to share their affinity for doing unspeakable things to children including turning them into grotesque rats. It features Anjelica Huston as the Grand High Witch, Holllywood rebel Mai Zetterling as Luke's grandmother and Rowan "Mr. Bean" Atkinson as the hotel concierge. This flick is the very definition of a family Halloween film, and if your kiddos have a problem with talking to strangers, consider it solved after viewing this movie.
